MYAKKA CITY, Fla., (May 20, 2026) — TerraNova Equestrian Center’s Director of Marketing and Communications, Ruby Tevis, has been named a recipient of the Equine Media NextGen Award by American Horse Publications (AHP) at its annual conference in Lexington, Kentucky.
The national award recognizes emerging professionals ages 25 to 35 who demonstrate excellence, integrity, and measurable impact in equine media. Up to two recipients are selected annually by a panel of industry experts.
Originally from Lexington, Kentucky, Tevis developed an early foundation in both equestrian sport and writing, competing in dressage while contributing to publications including the Kentucky Dressage Association’s Impulsion newsletter. She later earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Midway University and joined Sidelines Magazine as Social Media Manager, where she expanded her role in equine media and earned the AHP Equine Media Student Award.
Tevis relocated to Florida to join TerraNova Equestrian Center, stepping into a leadership role at age 22. She now serves as Director of Marketing and Communications, overseeing content strategy, media distribution, and event communications across the organization’s
growing national platform. Her recognition reflects TerraNova’s continued emergence as a nationally recognized destination for both competition and equine industry storytelling.
“Ruby represents the next generation of leadership in equine media,” said co-founder of TerraNova Equestrian Center, Natalee Herrig. “Her ability to combine industry knowledge with strategic communication has elevated how we tell our story at TerraNova and beyond.” The 2026 American Horse Publications Equine Media NextGen Award winner was recognized during the Friday night Special Awards Reception at the 2026 AHP Equine Media Conference in Lexington. The conference took place at The Campbell House, with the award ceremony scheduled for Friday evening. The award holds added significance as it will be presented in Lexington, where Tevis first developed her passion for equestrian sport and storytelling from a very young age.
“I was truly honored to receive this award from American Horse Publications,” said Tevis. “This organization has been an important part of my professional journey, and returning to my hometown of Lexington to receive it made the moment especially meaningful.”
