Photography & Videography Policy

Please review our policies before applying for credentials.

Private and client photography

Anyone using a camera with a detachable lens for photography or videography at TerraNova must comply with the following requirements. Credentials must be worn and visible at all times while shooting.

Commercial photography is defined as photography or videography undertaken for compensation, business promotion, advertising, marketing, publication, sale, licensing, client services, or any other financial or promotional benefit.

Private client photographers may not apply for media credentials. They may photograph up to five (5) individual clients per show week upon payment of the applicable weekly fee and submission of proof of insurance. All clients must be identified on the application in advance. Private client photographers may enter the competition ring only for awards presentations. On-site sales, solicitation, or promotion of photography or other services are prohibited.

Hobbyists and family members may photograph or film for their own personal use without paying a photography fee, provided they remain at least 10 feet from the arena fence at all times for safety. However, anyone who distributes, provides, sells, licenses, or otherwise makes photographs or video available to competitors for use online, in print, for promotional purposes, on social media, or in any other manner that competes with or displaces the services of the official photographer must complete the photography application, pay the applicable weekly fee, and provide proof of insurance.

The official photographer reserves the right to request that other photographers or media relocate to another designated position to maintain safe and unobstructed coverage of the competition.

Private photography is prohibited at all TerraNova Dressage events. These requirements are strictly enforced, and TerraNova reserves the right to revoke credentials or remove individuals who fail to comply with this policy.

Media credentials

Media credentials are only granted to those with an eligible assignment letter from a publication. A separate request must be submitted for each person, and it may take 48 hours or more from submitting the credential form to getting a pass printed and available for pick up. Questions can be emailed to [email protected].

By applying for and accepting a media credential, you agree that the pass will be used for news reporting purposes only. Photographers using a media pass may only use their photos for media usage; photos and video cannot be sold or given away to exhibitors. If you are a private photographer or agency representing an athlete or brand, you must complete the private photography form instead.
