Combined Driving and Carriage Driving at TerraNova
FEI 3*/2*/1* and USEF competition
Combined driving is the carriage driving equivalent of eventing. Horses are driven to pull a carriage through three phases across one competition: a dressage test judged on precision and obedience, a cross-country marathon through timed hazards, and a cones course that tests accuracy against the clock.
Three phases, one team
Combined driving is similar to eventing, but instead of riding, horses are driven to pull carriages through three phases of sport. Like a triathlon, horse and driver combinations compete in driven dressage; marathon, a cross-country obstacle course featuring water crossings and more; and cones, a timed phase testing precision and skill.
Enjoy this sport up close from a VIP table beside the action, or from the free general-admission viewing areas around the grounds.
The TerraNova Combined Driving Event (CDE)
TerraNova Equestrian Center hosted its second annual combined driving event January 22–25, 2026, welcoming FEI 3*, 2*, and 1* and USEF divisions to the showgrounds in Myakka City.
